Privacy policy

This policy applies to the Counter App mobile app, published by FREE MOBILE APPS STUDIO ONE MEMBER COMPANY LIMITED (“we”, “us”, or “our”).

1. Information stored on your device

Your photos, counts, marks, corrections, folders, and preferences are stored locally on your device. No account is required to use the app. You can remove this information by deleting counts in the app or uninstalling the app, subject to your device’s backup behavior.

2. Camera and photo library

The app asks for camera access so you can photograph objects to count, and photo library access so you can choose an existing photo. Only the photos you pick are used. You can change these permissions in your device settings.

3. On-device counting

By default, counting runs entirely on your device and photos are not uploaded.

4. Optional online counting

If you turn on Online counting in Settings (off by default), the app sends the photo you are counting, with location and other EXIF metadata removed, plus the example area you selected, to our counting server. Our server forwards the image to a vision-model provider through OpenRouter using only endpoints configured for zero data retention, and returns the detected objects to the app. We do not store the photo on our server. We keep a record of the request (a random installation identifier, a hash of the request, the count result and marked positions, timing, and any accuracy rating you give) to limit abuse, recover interrupted requests, and improve counting quality. You can turn Online counting off at any time.

5. App integrity

To protect the counting service from abuse, the app uses Apple’s App Attest to prove requests come from a genuine copy of the app. This creates a device-bound key that does not identify you personally.

6. Advertising

The free version displays ads supplied by Google Mobile Ads. Google and its advertising partners may process device identifiers, IP address, ad interactions, diagnostics, and approximate location inferred from an IP address to provide, measure, secure, or personalize ads where permitted. The app requests consent where required and provides an ad privacy choices control. Counter App Pro removes ads.

7. Purchases

Counter App Pro is sold as an auto-renewing subscription or a one-time purchase through the Apple App Store. Apple processes payment and provides transaction information under its own privacy policy. The app checks your entitlement with Apple’s StoreKit; we do not receive your payment details.

8. Sharing and sales

We do not sell your photos or counts. Information is shared only with the service providers described above when needed to provide ads, process purchases, or perform online counting you turned on. Those providers process information under their own terms and privacy policies.

9. Retention and deletion

Local app data remains on your device until you delete it or uninstall the app. Online counting request records are retained only as long as needed for their stated purpose, security, and fraud prevention. Advertising and app-store records are retained according to the provider’s policies. To request deletion of information held by us, email freemobileapps.studio@gmail.com.

10. Children

Counter App is not directed to children under 13, and we do not knowingly collect personal information from them.

11. Security and international processing

We use reasonable technical and organizational safeguards, including encrypted connections, but no storage or transmission method is completely secure. Service providers may process information in countries other than yours, subject to their applicable safeguards.

12. Changes

We may update this policy when the app or legal requirements change. The effective date above identifies the latest version.
