Privacy policy

We respect your privacy and aim to collect as little personal information as necessary to provide and improve Tape Measure (the “App”).

1. Information we collect

Camera access

The App uses your device’s camera to detect surfaces, identify points in your environment, and calculate augmented-reality measurements. Camera images and AR scene information are processed on your device unless a feature explicitly tells you otherwise. We do not use camera access to identify you or for advertising.

Photos

If you choose to save a measurement image or import an image, the App may request photo-library access. It uses this access only for the feature you request.

Measurements

The App may create measurements, dimensions, measurement points, saved projects, notes, labels, preferences, and settings. Unless the App states otherwise, this information remains on your device.

Device and usage information

Analytics, crash-reporting, advertising, or similar services may collect limited technical information such as device type, operating system, App version, feature interactions, crash diagnostics, advertising identifiers where permitted, and approximate location inferred from an IP address. We may use this information to operate and improve the App, diagnose problems, provide support, prevent abuse, and display or measure advertising.

2. Advertising and tracking

The free version may display advertisements from third-party advertising partners. Those partners may process device, advertising, and usage information under their own privacy policies. If the App or a partner performs activity Apple defines as tracking, the App will request permission through App Tracking Transparency where required. You may deny that permission without losing the App’s basic functionality.

3. Purchases and subscriptions

Premium features may be available through auto-renewable subscriptions. Apple processes App Store purchases; we do not receive or store your complete payment-card information. Apple handles purchase information under its own terms and privacy policy.

4. How we share information

We do not sell your personal information. Information may be processed by providers that support analytics, crash reporting, advertising, payments, or platform functionality. We may also disclose information when reasonably necessary to comply with law, respond to lawful requests, protect rights or safety, or prevent fraud and abuse.

5. Retention and security

Locally stored information remains on your device until you delete it, remove the related content, or uninstall the App. Third-party providers retain information according to their own policies. We use reasonable safeguards, but no electronic storage or processing method is completely secure.

6. Children’s privacy

The App is not directed to children below the age at which they may consent to data processing in their jurisdiction. We do not knowingly collect personal information directly from children through our own account system. Contact us if you believe a child has provided information inappropriately.

7. Your choices

You can control camera, photo, and tracking permissions in device Settings; limit personalized advertising where supported; delete locally stored measurements; and contact us about personal information we control.

8. Changes

We may update this policy as the App, our practices, providers, or legal requirements change. We will revise the effective date when we do.
